The Texas Junior FFA is a statewide organization with the purpose of enhancing and encouraging the education of younger students who are interested in the future of the agricultural industry.  Membership in the Texas Junior FFA is open to students in grades where agricultural science courses are not offered.  Junior FFA members must be at least eight years old and in grades 3-6.  Please read our local Junior FFA Policies below for specific details regarding membership, eligibility, deadlines, and opportunities.

Membership Guidelines

Student must attend school in the Royal I.S.D., grades (3-6); at least 8 years old and must meet one of the following eligibility requirements.

-Older sibling is a current/former member of Royal FFA(High School) or current/former member of the Discovery FFA(Grade 7 or 8).

- Parent or grandparent is an employee or school board member of the Royal I.S.D.

- Parent or grandparent is a retired employee or former school board member of the Royal I.S.D.

- Parent is a former paid member of the Royal FFA Chapter.

Dues

Junior FFA membership dues will be $10 for yearly membership.  The membership year will begin September 1 and end August 31.  This year’s dues deadline is Friday October 7th.

Livestock Exhibition/Showing an Animal

Waller County Fair, Fort Worth Stock Show, San Angelo Stock Show, San Antonio Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show, Star of Texas Fair Austin, State Fair of Texas

Livestock Evaluation

Fall County Fair Contests, Spring Invitationals, and Major Stock Show Contests

Local Officer Elections

President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, Sentinel

Attend monthly meetings

Members must attend monthly meetings in order maintain eligibility status.  Meetings will be held at the Royal ISD Ag Complex located at RHS. If a member misses more than 2 meetings in a year they will become ineligible to compete or show livestock.  

Community Service

Plan and coordinate two activities that involve community service.  

Public Relations

Decorate a float for the Royal FFA Parade.

Attend Royal FFA Show and Sale.

Fundraising

Participate in annual Meat, Fruit, and Cookie Sale.
