Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (One Credit)
Course Requirements: Designed for Students in Grades 9-12.
Description:This course allows students to develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, personal development, globalization, industry standards, details, practices, and expectations. To prepare for success, students need to have opportunities to learn, reinforce, experience, apply, and transfer their knowledge and skills in a variety of settings.
Principles and Elements of Floral Design (One Credit)
*Satisfies Fine Arts Credit Requirement for all HS Graduation Plans
Prerequisite: Principles of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
Description: This course is designed to develop students' ability to identify and demonstrate the principles and techniques related to floral design as well as develop and understanding of the management of floral enterprises. Through the analysis of artistic floral styles and historical periods, students develop respect for the traditions and contributions of diverse cultures.
Horticulture Science (One Credit)
Prerequisite: Principles and Elements of Floral Design
Description: This course is designed to develop an understanding of common horticultural management practices as they relate to food and ornamental plant production.
Advanced Plant and Soil Science (One Credit)
*Satisfies 4th Science Credit
Prerequisite: Horticulture Science
Description: This course is designed to prepare students for careers in the food and fiber industry. Students will learn plant practices and procedures in the landscape, ornamanetal, greenhouse and production phases of the industry.
Livestock Production (One Credit)
Prerequisite: Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
Description: This course is designed to introduce animal species along with growth and development of beef cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and poultry.
Veterinary Medical Applications (One Credit)
Prerequisite: Livestock Production
Description: To prepare for success, students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, and transfer knowledge in a variety of settings. Topics covered in this course include, but are not limited to, veterinary practices as they relate to both large and small species.
Advanced Animal Science (One Credit)
Prerequisite: Vet Medical Applications
Description: This course examines the interrelatedness of human, scientific, and technological dimensions of livestock production. Instruction is designed to allow for the application of scientific and technological aspects of animal science through field and laboratory experiences.

This course intrduces students to horticultural sciences. Areas are landscape design, turf maintenance, plant nutrition, and plant use and identification. Plant chemical uses and precautions are introoduced along with tools and equipment used in the industry. Membership in the Royal FFA Chapter is an option for students in this class.

This basic applied agriculture course is designed to increase the agricultural knowledge for beginning students. this course includes the study of soils, plants, animals, agricultural construction, food science, supervised occuaptional experience programs, metal fabrication, and leadership development.
